About Chris Carpenter
Chris Carpenter was born in North Shields 1967, went to school in Staffordshire then moved to Scotland in 1985.
His working background is administrative related but he has always had a passion and fascination for Art including experimenting with different mediums.
From an early age he has always been interested in painting and drawing; more abstract style than anything else. Chris does not hold any formal qualification in art or wood carving, his technique and approach have come from personal research and experimenting with various techniques which he continuously develops. Chris is fairly new on the scene, just really taking his work seriously since 2006, and now he wishes to make his work more known to the public.
His love for wood carving comes from the fact that Chris is able to take an inconspicuous piece of wood; whether it’s a tree stump or reclaimed timber, which he then transforms in to a sculpture which now has life and character for all to enjoy.
